The Board of Management of the Postgraduate Institute of Indigenous Medicine (PGIM), University of Colombo invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the prestigious position of Director.
The appointment is made in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Universities Act, PGIM Ordinance and UGC regulations.

🎓 Required Qualifications
Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:
- 🩺 A Doctor of Medicine (MD/MS) with Board Certification or an equivalent qualification; OR
- 🎓 A Doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in a Medical or Indigenous Medicine specialty.
Applicants should also have at least five (05) years of administrative experience after obtaining the doctoral qualification.
👤 Age Limit
Applicants must:
- 🇱🇰 Be citizens of Sri Lanka.
- 🎂 Be less than 63 years of age on the closing date of applications.
📋 Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate should have the experience and ability to perform the functions and responsibilities of the Director and provide effective leadership to the Postgraduate Institute of Indigenous Medicine.
Previous experience in educational and administrative fields will be an added advantage.
The Director will serve as:
- 👔 Principal Executive Officer of the Institute
- 🎓 Principal Academic Officer
- 💰 Principal Accounting Officer
- 📌 Ex-officio member of the PGIM Board of Management and its Boards of Study

- 💡 A statement of vision for the development of the Institute.
- 🎯 A brief account of what the applicant proposes to achieve if appointed to the position.
- 📚 A complete Curriculum Vitae with supporting documents, including date of birth and contact details.
- 📜 A certified copy of the Birth Certificate.
- 🏆 If the incumbent Director is applying or has previously held the position, a report outlining achievements during the first period of office.
- ✉️ A letter from the employer indicating whether the applicant can be released if appointed to the position.
