🚗 CIABOC Driver (Grade III) Recruitment 2026 – 46 Vacancies
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has announced applications for recruitment to the post of Driver (Grade III) on an open basis for 46 vacancies.
This recruitment is conducted in accordance with Section 26(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023. Eligible Sri Lankan citizens who meet the required educational, professional, experience and physical fitness qualifications can apply.

The salary scale is Rs. 43,280-10×490-10×540-10×590-12×630-Rs. 67,040, with other applicable allowances. The notification also states that if recruitment takes place before 01 January 2027, the salary will be paid according to Schedule II at Rs. 40,834.00.
🎓 Educational Qualifications
Applicants should have:
✅ Passed six subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination in not more than two sittings.
✅ Obtained credit passes for two subjects, including the Sinhala or Tamil Language.
🚘 Professional Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
🔹 A driving licence for heavy vehicles issued by the Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic.
👨🔧 Required Driving Experience
Applicants should have:
🔹 Three years of experience as a driver, either continuously or discontinuously.
📌 The required experience must be supported with documentary evidence.
💪 Physical Fitness Requirements
Candidates must:
✅ Be in good physical and mental fitness to serve in any part of Sri Lanka and perform the duties of the post.
✅ Have good eyesight during both day and night, certified through a medical report.
✅ Have a minimum height of 5 feet.
🇱🇰 Other Requirements
Applicants should:
✔️ Be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
✔️ Be of excellent moral character.
✔️ Have fulfilled all qualifications required for the post by the date specified in the notification.
🎂 Age Limit
Applicants should be:
🔹 Minimum: 25 years
🔹 Maximum: 45 years
💰 Salary
The salary scale for the Driver (Grade III) post is:
Rs. 43,280 – 10×490 – 10×540 – 10×590 – 12×630 – Rs. 67,040
The applicable salary code is AC-PL-3-2025, and the initial salary step is Rs. 43,280. Other allowances approved by Parliament on 17 March 2026 will also be paid.
The Gazette further states that where recruitment is made before 01 January 2027, salaries will be paid according to Schedule II at Rs. 40,834.00.
📝 Selection Method
Recruitment will be conducted 100% on an open basis.
The selection consists of:
1️⃣ Professional Examination

Candidates who obtain more than 50 marks at the professional examination will be called for the structured interview.
2️⃣ Structured Interview
The structured interview considers:
🔹 Additional educational qualifications – 20 marks
🔹 Additional work experience – 15 marks
🔹 Proficiency in other languages – 10 marks
🔹 Subject-related knowledge – 25 marks
🔹 Competency demonstrated at the structured interview – 30 marks
Total: 100 marks
Candidates obtaining the highest aggregate marks from the professional examination and structured interview will be recruited in order of merit against the available vacancies.
🏛️ Terms and Conditions of Appointment
The selected candidates will receive a permanent appointment and will be entitled to the benefits of the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF).
The appointment is subject to a three-year probationary period. Recruits must also pass the required Efficiency Bar Examination within three years of recruitment.
Confirmation in the service will depend on satisfactory work, attendance and conduct and successful completion of the Efficiency Bar Examination.

Original documents must be produced at the interview for verification of the certified copies.
