The Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries & Nutrition of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka has announced applications for the 7th Intake (2027–2029) of the B.Sc. Food Quality Management (External) Degree Programme.
This degree programme is designed particularly for individuals employed in the food-related industry, food-related professions, and food business entrepreneurs who wish to enhance their academic and professional qualifications.

🎯 Admission Requirements
Applicants should meet the following qualifications:
1️⃣ GCE Advanced Level Qualification
Applicants who have passed the GCE (A/L) examination in either the Science Stream or Technology Stream in one sitting may apply, together with:
➡️ Minimum of two (02) years of post-qualifying experience in the food industry.
2️⃣ Other Accepted Qualifications
Applicants with any of the following qualifications may also be considered:
🔹 Higher National Diploma in Food Technology (HNDFT)
🔹 Diploma in Food Quality Management
🔹 Diploma in Food Quality Management offered by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI)
🔹 Higher Diploma in Public Health Inspectors
🔹 Diploma in Public Health Inspectors offered by the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka
📌 Other Qualifications
Qualifications other than those stated above may also be considered if they are recommended by the Board of Study and acceptable to the Senate of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.
📝 Selection Process
Applicants who fulfil the admission requirements will be required to face an aptitude test.
The aptitude test will assess basic knowledge of Food Science and Technology in the English language.
📌 Candidates who obtain a minimum of 40% for the aptitude test will be called for an interview.
🎯 Final selection will be made from candidates who successfully complete the required evaluations.
⏳ Duration of the Degree
The BSc Food Quality Management degree programme will be conducted over:
🎓 Three (03) Academic Years – 2027 to 2029
🌐 Medium & Mode of Instruction
📖 The medium of instruction will be English.
💻 The programme will use Open Distance Learning (ODL) methods to provide instruction to students.
📚 Printed learning materials will also be provided.
💰 Course Fee
The total course fee for the three-year programme is:

The payment structure is:
🔹 Rs. 80,000/- – Payable at registration
🔹 Balance – Payable in 05 instalments
In addition, applicants must pay an:
