The Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) is inviting applications for several academic vacancies in its Faculties of Computing, Engineering and Architecture, and Humanities and Sciences.
Eligible candidates can apply for positions including Assistant Professor, Senior Lecturer, Lecturer (Research Track), and Assistant Lecturer (Temporary).

Position: Assistant Professor
Vacancies: 2
Applicants must possess relevant academic qualifications, including:
- 🎓 A four-year Bachelor’s degree with 1st or 2nd class honours, or
- 🎓 A three-year Bachelor’s degree with 1st or 2nd class honours, or a pass in a four-year Bachelor’s degree plus a Master’s degree at SLQF Level 9 or above
- 📚 An earned doctoral degree in a relevant or closely related field
Relevant disciplines include:
- 🔹 Software Engineering
- 🔹 Artificial Intelligence
- 🔹 Data Science
- 🔹 Machine Learning
Applicants should also have at least six years of demonstrated competence in research, teaching and/or industry practice, together with a strong publication record in reputed research journals.
🖥️ Department of Information Technology (Matara Centre)
Position: Assistant Professor
Applicants must possess:
- 🎓 Relevant Bachelor’s degree qualifications
- 🎓 A Master’s degree at SLQF Level 9 or above where applicable
- 📚 An earned doctoral degree in a relevant field
- 🏆 At least six years of demonstrated competence in research, teaching and/or industry practice
- 📝 A strong publication record in reputed research journals
🔬 Department of Computer Science
Position: Lecturer (Research Track)
Applicants must possess:
- 🎓 A relevant four-year Bachelor’s degree with 1st or 2nd class honours, or
- 🎓 A relevant three-year Bachelor’s degree with 1st or 2nd class honours, or a four-year Bachelor’s degree plus a Master’s degree at SLQF Level 9 or above
Applicants should have:
- 🧑🏫 At least two years of undergraduate teaching experience or satisfactory industry experience

💻 Department of Software Engineering
Position: Assistant Lecturer (Temporary)
Applicants must possess:
- 🎓 A relevant four-year Bachelor’s degree with 1st or 2nd class honours, or
- 🎓 A relevant three-year Bachelor’s degree with 1st or 2nd class honours and a Master’s degree at SLQF Level 9 or above
Applicants should have at least:
- ⏳ One year of undergraduate teaching experience or satisfactory industrial experience
- 📚 Evidence of research contributions

🔌 Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Position: Assistant Professor
Applicants must have:
- 🎓 A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 1st or 2nd class honours
- 📚 An earned doctoral degree in a closely related field
- 🏆 At least six years of demonstrated competence in research, teaching and/or industry practice
- 📝 A strong publication record in reputed research journals
Candidates with a strong background in Electrical Power Engineering and expertise in other relevant areas are particularly encouraged to apply.

Position: Senior Lecturer (On Contract)
Applicants must have:
- 🎓 A 1st or 2nd class honours four-year Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field

- 🏆 At least six years of demonstrated competence in research and teaching
- 📝 A good publication record
👩🏫 Position: Lecturer (Teaching-Track)
Applicants must possess:
- 🎓 A four-year Bachelor’s degree in English or a related discipline with 1st or 2nd class honours, or
- 🎓 A three-year Bachelor’s degree with 1st or 2nd class honours, or a pass in a four-year Bachelor’s degree in English or a related discipline
- 📚 A Master’s degree at SLQF Level 9 or above
- 🧑🏫 At least two years of undergraduate teaching experience
- 📝 A good research record
