National Savings Bank (NSB) Translator (Tamil) Vacancy 2026

The National Savings Bank (NSB) has announced a vacancy for the Post of Translator (Tamil) – Grade III Class II. Applications are invited from qualified Sri Lankan citizens who possess the required educational qualifications and professional experience in Tamil-English translation.

Eligibility Requirements

Citizenship

Applicants must be:

✅ Citizens of Sri Lanka.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should fulfill one of the following qualification pathways:

Option 1

• A Degree from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka in the Tamil Stream with English as a subject.
• Minimum 03 years of experience as a Tamil Translator engaged in Tamil-to-English and English-to-Tamil translation work.

Option 2

• A Degree from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka in the English Stream.
• Passed G.C.E. Advanced Level and Ordinary Level examinations in the Tamil medium.
• Obtained a Distinction pass for Tamil Language as the first language at G.C.E. O/L.
• Minimum 05 years of experience as a Tamil Translator engaged in Tamil-to-English and English-to-Tamil translation work.

Option 3

• A Degree from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Tamil Translator engaged in Tamil-to-English and English-to-Tamil translation work.

Additional Advantage

Experience in:

• Sinhala to Tamil translation
• Tamil to Sinhala translation

within a recognized institution will be considered an added qualification.

Age Limit

Applicants must be:

• Below 45 years of age as of the closing date of applications.

Terms of Employment

• Permanent appointment.
• Subject to a probationary period of one year.

Salary and Remuneration

Salary Scale

Rs. 113,040 – Rs. 150,640

Increment Structure:

• Rs. 1,880 × 20

Estimated Gross Monthly Salary

💰 Approximately Rs. 247,619 per month
