💰 Salary
The salary code is PL 3 – 2025.
Salary Scale:
Rs. 42,780 – 10×490 – 10×540 – 10×590 – 12×630 – Rs. 66,540
In addition to the salary, selected applicants will be entitled to other allowances paid by the Government to public officers from time to time.

🎓 Educational Qualifications
Applicants should normally have passed six subjects at the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination, including at least two credit passes, in not more than two sittings.
However, candidates who have obtained NVQ Level 03 or NVQ Level 04 competency in the relevant field, under the applicable Public Administration Circular, are exempt from the above educational qualification requirement.
🛠️ Vocational Qualifications
Applicants should possess at least NVQ Level 04 competency relevant to the duties of the respective post, as determined by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.
The required vocational qualifications vary according to the post. For example:
- 🔧 Fabricator (Metal): NVQ Level 4
- 🔥 Furnaceman: Relevant technical training and furnace-related skills
- ⚙️ Fitter (General): NVQ Level 4
- 🚛 Heavy Vehicle Operator: Relevant heavy-vehicle experience, maintenance knowledge and NVQ Level 4 competency
- 🏭 Machinist: NVQ Level 4
- 🔨 Welder: NVQ Level 4
- 🚿 Plumber: Relevant technical training and plumbing skills

📝 Selection Method
Recruitment will be based on:
1️⃣ Vocational Practical Test
Candidates will be assessed through a practical test relevant to the post.
The practical test generally carries:
- ⏱️ Duration: 1 hour
- 🏆 Total Marks: 100
- ✅ Pass Marks: 40
The practical tasks differ according to the trade. For example, tests may involve welding, machining, plumbing, vehicle operation, furnace operation, casting, carpentry or other relevant technical skills.
2️⃣ Structured Interview
The structured interview carries a maximum of 100 marks.
Marks are allocated for:
- 🎓 Additional Educational Qualifications – 20 marks
- 💼 Relevant Service Experience – 40 marks
- 🛠️ Training Courses – 15 marks
- 🏅 Extra-Curricular Activities – 20 marks
- 🗣️ Interview Performance – 5 marks
Total: 100 marks
