🚨 University of Colombo Vacancies 2026 – Driver, Electrician & Aluminium Fabricator Grade III
The University of Colombo is inviting applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for several non-academic vacancies. Applications are open for Driver Grade III, Electrician Grade III, and Aluminium Fabricator Grade III.
Eligible candidates are invited to submit their applications before the closing date.
📌 Available Vacancies
The following positions are available:
🚗 1. Driver Grade III
Qualifications:
- Should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects with at least two (02) credit passes in not more than two sittings.
AND
- Should have obtained a driving license for heavy vehicles issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic and have a minimum of three (03) years’ experience in driving after obtaining the driving license.
⚡ 2. Electrician Grade III
Qualifications:
Candidates should have obtained a Proficiency Certificate not below National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4, issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission, relevant to the function of the post of Electrician.
🏗️ 3. Aluminium Fabricator Grade III
Qualifications:
Candidates should have obtained a Proficiency Certificate not below National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4, issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission, relevant to the function of the post of Aluminium Fabricator.

📅 Maximum Age: 45 years
💰 Salary Scale
UPL 3 (III)
💵 Rs. 48,050 – 16 × 490 – Rs. 55,845 per month

🏦 Provident Fund and Pension Benefits
The selected candidate will become a member of the Universities Provident Fund and the Universities Pension Scheme.
The employee will contribute 10% of the monthly salary to the Universities Provident Fund. The University will make a total contribution equivalent to 15% of the employee’s salary, including contributions to the Universities Pension Fund and the Employees’ Trust Fund.
🏛️ Government-approved allowances applicable to the University system will also be paid.
