National Language Education and Training Institute (NILET) under the Ministry of Justice and National Integration has announced applications for the Diploma in Language Translation (Sinhala – Tamil) 2026/2027.
Applications are invited from qualified candidates who wish to develop their knowledge and practical skills in Sinhala–Tamil language translation and prepare for government translator examinations.
📚 Diploma in Language Translation – 2026/2027
The one-year diploma programme is designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical training in language translation. The course also aims to prepare students for the Government’s annual translator examination and examinations conducted for the recruitment of translators.

🎯 Minimum Qualifications

- 🎓 Must have passed the G.C.E. (A/L) examination.
- 📖 Must have obtained a credit pass in Sinhala/Tamil at the G.C.E. (O/L) examination.
📝 Selection Test
Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be required to sit for a written test conducted by the National Institute of Language Education and Training.
Successful candidates will be selected for the Diploma in Language Translation programme.
