🏆 University Admission 2025/2026 – Special Intake for Exceptional Sports Abilities
The University Grants Commission (UGC), Sri Lanka has announced a special intake for University Admission – Academic Year 2025/2026 for applicants with exceptional abilities and skills in sports.
This special admission opportunity is available for eligible applicants who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in sports and wish to pursue selected degree programmes in Sports Science & Management or Physical Education.
🎓 Degree Programmes Available
Eligible applicants may be considered for the following courses:
- 🏅 Sports Science & Management – Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka
- 🏃 Physical Education – University of Sri Jayewardenepura
- ⚽ Physical Education – University of Kelaniya
- 🏃♂️ Physical Education – University of Jaffna
Applicants selected under this special category will be required to complete a suitable foundation course conducted by the Open University of Sri Lanka before commencing the academic programme.
🏆 Who Can Apply?
Applicants should fulfil the requirements specified by the University Grants Commission. Candidates should have exceptional achievements or participation in recognised sporting events.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should meet at least one of the following criteria:
- 🥇 Have won medals or participated in the Olympic Games.
- 🥇🥈🥉 Have won at least a Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal at the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games or SAARC Games.
- 🇱🇰 Be a member of a national team representing Sri Lanka at the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games or SAARC Games.
- 🏆 Be a member of a recognised World Cup team in sports such as Cricket, Football, Rugby, Volleyball, Netball or any other sport determined by the University Grants Commission.
Applicants should provide certified copies of the relevant certificates as evidence of their sporting achievements.
