The Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka invites qualified diploma holders in agriculture to apply for admission to the B.Sc. (Agriculture) Honours Degree Programme under the Special Entry Scheme 2024/2025.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:

🌱 1. Recognized Agriculture Diploma

Applicants should possess one of the following:

✔️ A Two-Year Diploma in Agriculture from:

• Department of Agriculture Schools of Agriculture
• Advanced Technological Institute (SLIATE)
• Technical Training Institute (TTI), Katunayake
• Vocational Training Authority (VTA)
• Any recognized institution approved by the Ministry of Higher Education

OR

✔️ National Diploma in Plantation Management offered by NIPM Athurugiriya.

📚 2. Academic Qualifications

🎓 G.C.E. (O/L)

Applicants must have:

✔️ Six (06) passes in one sitting
✔️ Four (04) credit passes including:

• Science
• Mathematics

🎓 G.C.E. (A/L) – Old Syllabus

Passes in at least three subjects in one sitting from:

• Botany
• Zoology
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Pure Mathematics
• Applied Mathematics
• Agriculture

OR

🎓 G.C.E. (A/L) – New Syllabus

Passes in all three subjects in one sitting with a Z-Score above zero from:

• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Combined Mathematics
• Agriculture

💼 3. Work Experience

Applicants must possess:

✔️ Minimum 05 years of experience as a permanent employee in:

• Government Agriculture Sector
• Plantation Sector
• Related Agricultural Fields

⚠️ Experience should be gained after obtaining the Agriculture Diploma.

🎂 4. Age Requirement

Applicants must be:

✔️ Below 40 years of age on the application closing date.

📝 Selection Process

🧪 Entrance Examination

Eligible applicants will be required to sit for an Entrance Examination conducted by the university.

Only successful candidates will be selected for admission.
