The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL), popularly known as Lake House, has announced new vacancies for qualified and experienced media professionals to join its Digital Media Department. Applications are invited for several Digital Journalist Grade III positions and a Videographer cum Drone Operator role.

Available Positions

1. Digital Journalist Gr. III – Sinhala

Lake House is seeking talented Sinhala-language digital journalists with experience in journalism, content creation, and multimedia production.

2. Digital Journalist Gr. III – English

Candidates with strong English writing and reporting skills are encouraged to apply for this digital journalism position.

3. Digital Journalist Gr. III – Tamil

Applicants with Tamil language proficiency and digital media experience can apply for this role.

4. Digital Journalist Gr. III – Videographer Cum Drone Operator

This position is ideal for professionals specializing in videography, aerial photography, drone operations, and video editing.

Qualifications for Digital Journalist Gr. III Positions

Applicants should meet one of the following requirements:

Option 1

• Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Multimedia, or Video Editing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in journalism, content creation, or video editing

Option 2

• NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Multimedia or Video Production
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Option 3

• G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) with a Certificate in Journalism, Multimedia, or Video Editing
• Minimum 4 years of experience in digital content creation, journalism, or video editing

Option 4

• G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) with a Certificate in Journalism, Multimedia, or Video Editing
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience

Qualifications for Videographer Cum Drone Operator

Candidates should possess one of the following qualifications:

Option 1

• Diploma in Videography, Video Editing, Drone Operations, UAV Management, or Aerial Photography
• Minimum 2 years of industry experience

Option 2

• NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Videography, Video Editing, Drone Operations, UAV Management, or Aerial Photography
• Minimum 3 years of experience

Option 3

• G.C.E. O/L with professional certification in Videography, Video Editing, Drone Operations, UAV Management, or Aerial Photography
• Minimum 7 years of experience

Core Requirements for All Positions

Successful candidates should have:

• Experience in digital content creation for websites, social media, and multimedia platforms
• Strong news sense and programme development skills
• Proficiency in video editing and videography
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Sinhala, English, or Tamil
