The selected candidate will be recruited through a structured interview process conducted by an interview board appointed by the Public Service Commission.
🎓 Required Educational Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
✅ A Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer issued by the maritime administration of Sri Lanka or another recognized country such as:
- United Kingdom
- Australia
- Canada
- China
- India
- Pakistan
- New Zealand
- Malaysia
- Singapore
- South Africa
- Ireland
or any country having a bilateral certificate recognition agreement with Sri Lanka.
🚢 Experience Requirements
Candidates must have:
✅ At least 02 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on an ocean-going merchant vessel equipped with a main engine exceeding 3000 kW capacity.
💪 Other Eligibility Requirements
✔ Must be a Sri Lankan citizen
✔ Must possess excellent character and integrity
✔ Must be physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere in Sri Lanka
💰 Salary & Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
💵 Monthly Allowance: Rs. 175,000/-
In addition, benefits legally entitled to officers appointed permanently to similar positions will be applicable during the contract period.
